The most visited monuments in Greece

Every nation in the world holds wonders that are natural or designed by the facts of the past. Nations with mythical pasts have many more monuments that attract countless visitors. Greece is one of the most visited nations in the world for its wonderful places, buildings and above all for its monuments of unique beauty. Some buildings are particularly attractive to tourists. There are thus in Greece, certain monuments which know a number of visits much greater than all the others.

The Parthenon of Athens

The Parthenon was a sacred building in Athens, Greece. It served as a temple for the worship of Athena. The Parthenon is a unique masterpiece in the world. When you are in front of the Parthenon, you will take turns learning about it and learning about its history. Restoration work has been underway since 1983 on this Greek monument. The Parthenon houses the statue of Athena (gold and ivory) butterfly (work of the famous sculptor Phidias). The great procession of the Panathenaea is over, representing the temple belt.

The theater of Dionysus

Greece has made its reputation as much through its mythical heroes as through its great men of letters. The theater of Dionysus remains the only place where the first readings are witnessed. During your trip, you will find him along Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. Entrance from the archaeological side of the south side of the Acropolis, and on your left you will see the oldest theater, Dionysus, where four of the greatest ancient Greek poets Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides and Aristophanes were found. It was therefore first executed in the 5th century BC. The terrace and the entrance hall were originally made of wood and rebuilt in marble in the 4th century BC. The stone cross is visible today and experts estimate that the theater has 17,000 seats. It remains a great monument which arouses great visits.

The Areopagus

It is the oldest known court and it is particularly respected in Antiquity. It was the seat of the first aristocratic council of ancient Athens. Over time, the council gradually lost political power until the second half of the 5th century BC. Orestie even reported that Oreste had been tried in the Aeropagus court for the murder of her mother Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus. Locke recalled that it was also in this court that the apostle Paul first spoke to the Athenians in AD 51. He also knows a large audience in Greece.
